Hello, I have a query that I'd like to put my mind at rest please:
My boilers pilot went out this morning and I could not re-light it after many tries. So I called my local gas safe plumber who is away until tomorrow and he says he'll sort it for me. He said it could be the thermocouple more than likely and he has one on him.
Anyway to be extra safe I turned the gas off at the meter via the handle.
I went out shopping this afternoon and have just got back, and realised when I was out the hot water was due to come on at the programmer, from 1-3pm (we have a hot water tank).
So I am thinking the boiler's electric would have been on but obviously no gas through to it due to no pilot and me turning off the meter also.
Will I have damaged the boiler? SHould I have turned off the hot water at the programmer. I have done so now, but am a little worried I have muskced something up.
Thank you for your help
