Pipe Freezing Kits?

Hi

I want to change a sink over - there is no isolator valve on the pipes. I'm worried about turning the water off because I am scared of getting an airlock.

Would a pipe freezing kit be a good idea? Any recommendations?

It works very well. But probably a bit pricy for what you want to do!

Avoid the freezing spray kits unless you are feeling very lucky!

My advice would be to just turn the water off. And drain the tank. Much better to have an airlock than have a flood

Turn the water off. The chances of an airlock are far lower than the chances of a flood if the ice defrosts before you're ready for it

OK. I will avoid the kit and turn the water off.

If I get an airlock after I've turned the water back on, how do I clear it?

Hand over the tap, turn the hot on first then the cold, wait a minute or so, turn cold off then remove hand. With a bit of luck you'll clear the airlock and won't get too wet
