Hi all, I was hoping someone could help and offer some advice as I am unsure if I have found an issue or not. I live in rented flat, there is access to the loft in the hallway, out of curiosity I decided to see what is in the loft and if it could accommodate some boxes from the move.
I found the following, please see attached picture and not being remotely familiar with building works etc I didn’t know if is an issue no not. It seems there are pipes leading up to two vents connected to the top to the roof. There is a third pipe which looks like the connection has failed and now just hands down above my bedroom ceiling, you can see where it should connect between the first to beams.
Are these pipes to bring fresh air down into the building or are they to extract gasses etc? I do have a smoke and monoxide detector in the kitchen on the other side of the flat so feel comfortable its to bring clean air into the building, but I just wanted to check?
