Hi

Our central heating system had a cleaner put through it a couple of years ago due to one radiator being cold alot.

The pipes are now making a banging sound when the heating is on so I wondered what can we do easily to sort this out?

The pipes are the small type.

We have a combi boiler.

Thanks

Sounds like 'Water hammer'.

If you can find out exactly where the issue is, you can fit an expansion chamber to stop this problem.

Alternatively, you can try and located the pipes that are causing the racket and secure them properly in supports / strapping. This will stop some of the noise. As it will likely stop the pipes banging together / fitting other bits and pieces.

This is presuming that you haven't had your pipework properly supported / strapped down.

Sorry, I have no idea what your cover 'covers'.

Read the document and find out. Although, since you are probably paying / paid for your cover, I suggest you find out what you are covered for anyway.

Are you sure it's in your central heating system? If so, you have trapped air in the system. Try and located it as a start.

Waiting for the more experienced guys to jump in with some more suggestions here though. :)
