yes you guessed it im installing a shower
and are coming from the existing bath cold water supply but ive been told that i can use one of them self cutting things where i just clamp on the the existing pipe and it selfcuts a hole then i take a pipe off that to my shower .
but ive just now been told that will reduce the water plow too much and is not recomended for showers????

don't use them they have microbore hole so poor flow and they leak over time.
seen so many where the rubber rots away and they leak.
if you can't solder use a compression tee

The only use for those things that I have found is to drain down a system where there is no drain off on any down stairs rad. I always keep one in my tool bag

i fit all my plumbing with them....and a hose....saved a fortune in copper pipe and fittings
