Hi,
I hane a PIR light from focus about £8 and used to work when someone passed and go off after a certain time. But I had it unplugged for some time in the summer and now when I turn it on it stays constantly on.
I am sure you can quickly turn it on and off or similar to switch between the 2 modes as there is not button other than for the timer and sensitivity.

Any Ideas, new unit or can someone help please.

thanks

Lots of these lights with integrated PIR's have a 'pulse override' which as you say is operated by rapid switching so it probably is just that, try switching it off for a few seconds then back on and leaving it for a minute or so to see if it goes through it's setting procedure then in to automatic mode.

As above really, you could turn the settings down to minimum/test mode to save you waiting and ensure its on detection mode.
Failing that the fittings probably had it, 8 quid and the winter we've had its probably no surprise

ok, I will turn off for few seconds and then on and wait to see if it turns off, if not I will replace with a new one, maybe with a switch this time to turn from auto to on as I have seen one in maplins like this.

Cheers
