Hi all,

Sharing some pics of my replacement PIR Light above our garage!

Started with this:

Took the old light down on Saturday - soaking myself in the process as the white JB in the photo was FULL of water!

I also removed the old FCU for the old light:

I mounted the new security light and fed cable through the wall into the garage, where I connected it to a length of 1mm Twin & Earth using Wago connectors inside a surface pattress.

From here it went to a DP Appliance Switch, mounted next to the garage door instead of being stupidly high up on one of the roof beams!

I wired it into the existing junction box, tested and it works!

Job done!

Buy a spare light to match holes ready to swap. Those PIR lights don't last many years before playing up.
Good job though.

The BEST idea,
as I have remarked before,
is to install a Security Light
plus
an independent PIR Sensor controlling it.

Then, when ONE of them fails
you need to replace only that item - possibly, with a better one.

Thanks for the tip.
