Planning apps and loft conversions query.

HI,

Will i need to get planning permission etc to convert my loft into a "play room" for my son ?

Entry will be via loft hatch and ladder and the thought is to board up the sides of the loft vertically ( leaving storage space behind the boards), stick some kind of flooring down and then have a permanenen scalectrix track, TV and stereo up there.

It wont (and never will be) a bedroom

No you don't ( i stand to be corrected ) anyway who would know.

You dont need planning unless you are putting in a window/effecting the external appearance.
You dont need to do it to building regs unless you wish to sell it as a habitable room. I would suggest instead of calling it a "conversion" call it renovating the loft space for occassional use or something
