Plans/details for making plywood van racking.

DeltaT2

We've got a shed load of 12mm & 9mm exterior plywood, some sheets & large of-cuts. Our Storeman is an old Plumber but sh.t hot at Joinery work, so we're going to get him to knock up some van racks/pigeon holes, nothing too fancy just glued 'n' screwed. So has anyone got any details or plans for this??
Thanks for reading.

All depends on what you are wanting to carry really, I've done a couple of vans and both were different. I didn't work from plans either except the ones in my head so to speak :D

It's a bit thin to screw together, with thinner sheet material I cut slots of same dimension as timber and then you can put it together by slotting it into itself.
Can also be used to make a knock down table with no fixings required.
This is an example of one type of slot table

, but there are many variations and can also be used for a slot together saw horse etc.

Just to illustrate a van I rigged up a couple of years ago here are a few pictures. The van is a Sprinter and is used by a friend and her husband with whom I re-enact.

shows a veiw through the side door with racks for archery butt and table tops.
and a veiw through the back showing racks for tent poles and such on the right. The floor half way up the van is removable and seperates the "dirty" cooking kit and firetrays from tents and beddings. Also can be seen is a large sheild or pavise clamped to the roof on the left to make full use of space.
