Small problem in our Garden

We have a large sloping piece of land which leads down to a stream
2/3 way down is where my wife Keeps her Chickens
Its just rough grass covered ground but in the wet weather it has become slippery
I am looking for plans or ideas how to build a path with steps in it
which leads down about 20 degree slope
I have seen this sort of thing on country parks and on National trust walks
Could this be made from Pressure treated timbers eith the risers made from the same
Help up by stakes then the steps filled with crushed stone
Any ideas

i've got a sloping garden... i used them half log rolls....soaked in creosote, and used bark chippings for the step... looks very country, and very hard wearing...

plus, log rolls let you shape your steps to your requiremenets
