Plaster garage wall

I want to smarten up the area understairs, which is aerated blocks, with some big gaps where the builders havent mortared on both sides of the block.
Its only understairs, to keep the cleaning stuff in, and leads off the garage so i will probably not paint, or worry too much about it being perfect just to fill in those huge gaps between the blocks

what is the best stuff that I should add to my shopping list to do this job?

I'd just mix up some mortar and carefully fill the various gaps. You can get a quick setting one which is expensive, but is in small bags. Depends on how much you need

I would be tempted to give it several coats of white emulsion- It is amazing how much difference a coat of paint makes to cleanliness and just being able to see stuff
