Hi,

I am looking into potential investment into a terraced house built around 1930.

There is a damp patch on the plaster in one room from a old leak which has got me thinking about the plaster type and any potential headaches in the future.

Don't think it's plaster boarded and wondered if some one could advise what type of plaster this is as per the pictures? i.e Is it hair\lime or gypsum?

If it is hair\lime what are the potential issues\concerns with this I should think if I purchased the property?

I welcome any advice, thoughts or warnings I should be aware of.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for your reply to my post. Is there any downside to the house being plastered with lime and gypsum rather than plasterboard?

Could it be harder to find a plastere that does that type of plaster?

I read somewhere if oppurtunity arises could be good idea to go back to brick and plasterboard but sounds very expensive, takes up alot of time and messy.
