Plaster went off while taking the old carpet away.

Hi all,

How do I repair the plaster that went off when I took the wooden boards holding the carpet away?
Do I need to take all of that bit away and replaster or can I use some filler?
I am completely new to renovations so simple explanations will be appreciated.

Any old filler will do as you are covering it with the skirting anyway.
