Plasterboard fixing questions - fixings - brand of plasterboard?

When I ask for "best" I mean which is the strongest and best and technique. What type of fixing are best to use for plasterboard when fixing to ceiling joists, when fixing to bare brick wall and when fixing to wooden battens?

What brand of screws would be the best quality? Do you have to drill and use a rawplug or can you use screws that you can self screw into the brick, wood etc?

Best brand of loose drywall screw is Hilti. Never seem to get any swarf on the screw heads or threads. On cheap screws the swarf eventually cuts your fingertips to shreds or at least makes them sore with prolonged use. British Gypsum (silver) screws aren't bad either. Those screws are for fixing PB into timber or metal stud

I don't fix PB to masonry directly - I dot and dab or use foam instead

How many threads are you starting a week? Is it a competition? Andy
Well I'm planning on starting one thread with the subject of my refurb and hopefully I can post these type of questions on there so I don't have too many open separate threads/questions
