I am clipping some pipework to brick behind a dot and Dab plasterboard wall (pipework for radiator)

I am using foam to fill in the gaps/channel around the pipework prior to a final slim coat

Can I use plasterboard adhesive foam for the job? Or so I need standard expanding foam? I’ve got an unopened bottle down in the cellar

Cheers

Plasterboard foam is low expansion.
Standard foam expands more.
I think that's the only difference.

And have the brick sink a good proportion of the warmth from the water you just paid to heat?

I wouldn't, unless it was a wall within the thermal envelope, and even then..

What’s the difference between clipping pipework to a wall in comparison with clipping it to a skirting board?

The flow pipe will only cover a distance of 50cm whereas the return will cover 1.1m. I can’t expect much heat loss?

So would you suggest expanding foam?
Or just use more plasterboard adhesive foam than I would if using expanding?

Aren’t pipes clipped to breeze blocks in new builds?
