Plasterboard glued to concrete wall and then tiled?

I have spent the weekend knocking off all the old tiles in my bathroom. I am left with concrete walls that need skimming. Having read that plaster should be left for upto 2 months before tiling over, I am thinking about going for plaster board.

How should I fix plasterboard to concrete walls........adhesive? Would this then be ok to tile onto, or would it be too much weight for the PB adhesive to take? Should I supplement with a few screws to hold the PB to the wall?

Should I prime the PB around the bath/shower with a product like BAL primer, or PVA?

Use plasterboard adhesive to dot and dab preferably moisture resistant plasterboard to. This can be tiled directly onto without the need to skim, but for wet areas above the bath or within a shower area it should be tanked using something like bal wp1 kit. Alternatively, within the wet areas you could use aquapanel, which needs to be screwed to the walls, as adhesive alone will not be sufficient to carry its weight.

For skimming the rest of the walls, if you use MR board, it should be primed with a specialist primer as specified by the manufacturer, but certainly not pva (although a cheap alternative for this primer is pva with a handful of cement thrown in)

However, all that being said, a skim coat of plaster over the existing wall does not need 2 months waiting time - this refers to plaster that is built up using a subcoat with a skim on top.

you could try concrete backer board..

say's it's for floors, but it's moisture resistant and designed to take tiles ( hence the mesh on it.. )
