Hi all

Am fixing moisture resistant plasterboard to a bare red brick wall using dot and dab.

I then understand it is best advised to put mechanical fixings in to the adhesive once it had dried, is this correct? I am tiling on to the plasterboard.

Can anyone advise what mechanical fixing are best to use to go in to the adhesive? The board is 12.5mm thick

Thanks

I have done a lot of dot and dabbing over the years and have never used mechanical fixings. I put loads of adhesive on the boards and I haven't had any come backs yet.... ;)

Is that with tiling on the plasterboard aswell?

Yes I tiled my bathroom 16 years ago on top of dot and dab and they are still there,,,, ;) You have to make sure that your walls are dry and no damp will penetrate it, so check your render and outside wall covering,,, ;)
