We have a utility room thats built onto the house, a out house of sorts that we keep tumble dryer and fridge freezer in. It has a brick wall and i'd like to plasterboard the room and maybe wallpaper it with some thick paper but whats the best way to connect to a brick wall. I'm not a diy guy but like to try as you don't learn if you don't try. I have always painted it with some masonry paint but its just peeling.

Pick of the wall in question below, the room has two doors, window frame and gas meter.

The back wall in the pic is but the side walls where the doors are are double. I was thinks of putting wooden battons up and screwing to that.

The reason why the paint keeps flaking off is prob because the wall is damp.

I'd be tanking the wall before I do anything.

2 or 3 coats of a liquid dpm, (black bitumen)

Then a covering of your choice, insulation, plasterboard etc.
