plastered wall

I've just had an extension built, either I'm being picky or the finish is very poor and uneven. Can anyone tell me if newly plastered walls should be perfectly or very nearly smooth and even. My walls are wavy.

A well done plastered wall should be like glass. If it is wavy stop the cheque .

Acceptable is a three mill tolerance over six ft any more is not great as long as angles and ceiling lines are good if it is noticeable as you say then this is not acceptable at all
