Has anyone used those plastic plastering guides that fit into backboxes? it's just that I've got a job coming up (lived in) that want metal finish sockets and they are re-skimming the walls. If I use the guides I may be able to leave power on using the old sockets.

I think the best idea would be to use the metal extension boxes you can get and extend the backbox out about 15mm then you can secure the socket front back on..

Ah well, just ordered some. Will let you know what they are like and how easy they are to use as soon as!!
