I have bricked up a few doorways. To get the best finish and minimise cracking what is the best option? Was thinking

Use bonding to bring plaster out from brickwork level with existing surrounding plaster then skim the entire wall.

Or

Remove existing plaster back to corners either side and plaster the full wall.

Is there any benefit in option 2

If the old plaster is good then I would leave it as is, then use bonding to bring out where you have bricked and then skim the whole wall for a uniform finish

Thanks. Any risk of cracking that way or should it be OK

Should be fine.

Where the binding coat will be where you've bricked up, I would put tape to reduce the chances of cracking between the new and old
