Im trying to get hold of the following plastic bayonet light fitting for a family members light unit. It’s from 1930s so is a really dated design - the plastic terminal fits inside a brass holder. I’m hoping you can just get the plastic inner to the brass holder in the photo below ...

Could you not free the pin up, they sometimes just stick down due to the bulb pressure, small pliers or tweezers pull it up and down a few times till its springy again

New complete lampholders may not fit, you may need an additional thread adapter

A bit unlikely that, a complete brass lamp holder would be easier. They come in a couple of base threads, to fit sleeve nut, plus a threaded tube and a version which just mounts on the end of a flex.

Any of these any help - https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_...ampholder.TRS0&_nkw=brass+lampholder&_sacat=0

Thanks will have a look into those.

I could try and free the pin up but it has burn marks around the plastic where the terminals are. As you say this one has a thread adapter that screws into the wooden frame. I will keep searching !

When trying to fix the pins, or indeed doing anything to the fitting, make sure the power is off.

A childhood experience taught me that lesson.

That "plastic" light fitting from the 1930s looks remarkably like porcelaine!
