A Plastic C/H pipe has been run too close to one of my downlighters. My question is this - Can I simply lift the pipe (which tee's off the main run quite close by) and allow the fitting to rotate slightly on the pipe run ? Also I need to bias it slightly away from the light fitting by some means - possibly some sort of cradle. Could this result in any leakage or will the pipe fitting take the strain?

Looked at positively; if the pipe burnt through the water would pee over the fitting putting out any fire and tripping the circuit beaker as well :?

Thanx

I would personally ask a plumber to re route the pipe away from the light.
Putting pressure on a joint could result in a soaking. :(

Many thanks BAHCO. I may simply heatshield for now and have the pipes sorted when I get the en suite fitted out later this year.

Is it just me; or did I already read this on the UK Electrics forum !

No you read my original query (that seems to have disappeared) where one of the suggestions raised a point that needed a plumber or C/H engineer to answer. Ergo I posted it here as I needed a plumber to answer regarding pipework etc.

Hope that clears that up OK?
