Agile . What do you use as you have stated on here you don`t trust yourself to solder end feed fittings that would suggest to me you have no soldering skills.

I dont know where you get that from. I normally use end feed on new heating installations.

I am totally happy using plastic on open vented water supplies and did my own replacement bath with it a few months ago.

What I have said is that for top quality work Yorkshire solder ring are usually specified.

Unfortunately, Goldspoon, as you say most new buildings are plumbed in pushfit because less skilled people can be used and its quicker and a bit cheaper and thats all builders are after.

Any homeowner who fully understood the advantages of copper would be likely to want it in England and Wales.

Still to see a copper pipe that has worn out
I don't know why - I see an example of eroded copper about once a week. And that's on top of the instances of corroded copper.

When did you last see water succeed in wearing through the wall of plastic pipe?

And when did you last see electrolytic corrosion in plastic pipework?

Well obviously never but a mixture of plastic and copper can cause more electrolytic corrosion unless all the metal bits are bonded.

Scruff had an interesting situation of severe corrosion in a large block of flats but I never heard of the outcome.

So, why don't you always do top quality work, hmm?

The only people who would choose plastic fittings would be the lazy and those without soldering skills.

But not in their bathroom?

I was referring to the context of sealed heating systems which is what the OP seemed to be relating his experiences to.

The extra cost of Yorkshire fittings for new work is not usually justified over end feed for most domestic heating systems.

Not an installer is he.
Only in his imagination.

Oh I seeeee. How stupid of me. Now I've seen the light.

Please remind me though - where, in any of surfing1975's four posts, on any of the three topics on which he/she has posted, did he/she mention a boiler or a heating system, let alone a pressurised heating system?

The truth is actually that you thought you saw an opportunity for yet another of your countless stupid, biased, subjective, opinionated, pompous, bigoted comments about copper and plastic. And, as per usual, you were too blinkered to notice that you'd made an assumption that illustrates the lack of attention to detail which is the hallmark of a poor installer.

The extra cost of Yorkshire fittings for new work is not usually justified over end feed for most domestic heating systems.
I'm tempted to ask if you have any statistics to back that up, but you'd only write some more boll*cks. I don't give my customers a choice - they only get the best work and the best fittings.

I wrote many, many articles why I will not use "plastic" for potable water or for drainage unless it has to be used for an acid or chemical waste.

Plastic can be installed by anyone with an IQ of a rock and many DIY pepole no longer need the services of a so caled plumber when the DIY can get a how to book and with in 5 minutes become a plastic piping specialist.

I am still strictly Cast Iron waste and vent and copper / brass for water supply and black steel for steam and hydronics ( copper also) and black for oil and natural gas lines

When I ask people how do you dispose of the toxic plastic I usually get a blank stare..

but you get my meaning, you are bad tempered and rude to the other poster, and could probably start a fight in an empty room

Thats how you concieve his style in posting, he's more than often right. That said ther is an history. :D

Softas i look forward to you proving your point of finding at least once a week copper that has erroded or corroded through and is leaking as a result, and i don`t mean from leaking fittings.
Very simple that days paper with date on it and a photo it can be a running post with you adding at least one picture a week.
