Plastic wing nut for toilet

This one is Push n’Clean Quiet.Thanks. I’ve seen some videos where you use socket spanner snd nut snaps on half. There’s no commentary on the one I’ve seen for my type fitting. I just can’t snap it with my spanner snd then wouldn’t know what to do with either of the two separate bits.

Can you figure out from the pictures on the box?

Thank you

Here goes. These are the plastic screws you have to somehow snap into two with them positioned on the fittings shown.

1. Can’t achieve that with my spanner.
2. Don’t know what you have to then do, even if screw splits? “Instructions” on box just pictures.

Thank you.

Don’t think so, if you look at the pictures (instructions) I already provided.

Thanks.

I don't know what to say, the instructions look pretty straightforward to me.

The video posted earlier has the right fittings. It’s just the screws don’t split when I use the screwdriver. I also can’t fathom out what happens afterwards, which of the two separate parts do I retain and what do I do with it?

Tighten up the screws, remove plastic spacer bar between fixings, fit silver caps and fit toilet seat.

I wish I could post a video showing what happens when I tighten these things.

Thanks A

I’ll do that, but still don’t get the role of the white plastic screws and the malarkey about tightening them with a spanner and then doing....God knows.

They snap at the correct torque to ensure the bolt holding the seat fixing is tightened up properly. I've done loads slightly different to yours with absolutely no problems.

Must be me then. Box (only instructions) says nowt about the rationale for that process and shows spanner being used.

Dunno if it makes a difference but I would have expected metric fittings
How well does your 1/2" spanner actually fit?
