Was just curious to know how do I manage to get an wood grained effect by using plaster. We`re covering up 2 gurders and wanted to get an old oak beam effect. I remember a product that you used on paint to get a grain effect and wondered if this could be used on plaster. Many thanks

board the beam then go over it with bonding trying to get it flat,if your not a plasterer you might do a better job because youll be rougher. you could try the roller to see what effect that gives, the ones i seen that were convincing the work was in the finish.

Cheers for that i`ll give it a whirl (on a practise piece 1st)and see what effect I can get, it`ll probably be rougher than rough :D
