Hi can anyone advise on how best to approach this scenario. Ive put up stud walls on a corner to extend the wall for a fish tank I'm building.
The one side of the corner is a painted mdf sheet to create a discrete opening into the wall, where the other side is going to be plasterboard and skimmed to blend in with the original wall, my worry is if i plastered directly up to the door shut there is the possibility of the skim on the edge becoming damage or even the board underneath.
I want the whole thing to look as neat as possible.
Cheers

If i understand right you can use a plasterstop bead up to the edge of the mdf.

Use a thin coat stop bead on the wall edge as close as you can to the door opening so that it will open and skim up to the bead
Nice neat job and also adds strength to the end so it doesn't chip etc

Makes the job look professional as well

3mm thin coat stop beads are perfect for this type of job. Gives a nice neat finish.
