Hi, looking for an appropriate tree to plant in the raised bed to achieve privacy. Fence is 2m high and ideally need the tree to reach a height of 3-3.5m. The width of the bed is 65cm and depth is around 45-50cm. The area is susceptible to strong winds an I am conscious the bed needs to be deep enough to support the trees planted.

Currently looking at pleached laurels or red robins, although these are very pricey.

Any input, tips or things to be conscious of would be much appreciated. Thank you.

I use apple and hazel for this - which is great in the summer, particularly the hazel (and we get nuts), but offers little privacy in the winter.
Beech would do a good job as it keeps the old leaves on in the winter.
