Would some kind person help me with the design procedure - namely cable and protection selection. I am trying to do my C&G 2320 part 2 and want to get to grips with this.
For example I am building a new extension and plan to have a lighting new lighting circuit consisting of 6x 50W downlights and a couple of wall mounted luminaire's. I am also planning to run a new separate ring main consisting of say 8 double 13A sockets which will run a computer and accessories, tv, video and maybe a standard lamp.
For the moment please assume the only correction factor is running through wall insulation. Cables will be twin and earth. The correct consumer unit has type B MCB's
Would some kind person tell me how they would calculate what cables and protection they would use and more importantly why! (Those tables in 16th edition can be quite confusing).
At the same time has any one got any tips the best way to learn all of this so I can plan circuits in any situation.
Many Thanks
