Hi guys I could really appreciate some help please.

I have noticed damp coming into the garage walls by the lower brick walls, and it seems to be a patch of damp on the actual floor.

I have moved all the stones which is the other side of the wall, and noticed a hole underneath the drain pipe.

I filled the gully with water, and most of it stayed where it was, however when I filled the hole with water, it slowly drained away.

Im sorry if this is a silly question, but does that hole need to be filled in and could that be the cause of the damp which in the garage behind?

And would a coat of bitumen on the garage brickwork help?

Or would that hole lead to something, as I can not understand how water would drain away if not?

Thanks everyone
Alexa

Interesting. The school where I work had an on-going issue with rain getting in to the building (flat roof) and soaking the ceiling tiles of the executive head's office. We had atleast 7 different roofing companies come out to try and solve the issue but they just couldn't sort it. In the end, I mixed up some paint into some water and poured it in different places, knowing that it would come through and hopefully zero in on the source of the water ingress. Found it! We have solar panels on the roof and the pads that they sat on were capped with lead and water was getting in through the mounting bolts of the steelwork that held the panels down. A bit of silicone has sorted it for now. You may want to try the paint trick to confirm that's where the water's going.
