Please identify the screwdriver type required to undo this screw, the head of the screw appears to be 3 mm diameter, is it a very small Philips screwdriver?

The photo doesn't help.

I may be a PH1 or PZ1. It might even be a PH0 or PZ0.

3mm screws are normally PH1 or PZ1.

The screw is normally identified by the shank rather than the head size. In your case it might be a PH0 or PZ0.

Yeah, I have a number of these devices with 4 screws in them and all the heads are difficult to discern because they all appear misshapen and it wasn’t until I actually posted this pic that I suddenly could see that it was probably a Philips type.

Thanks for reply anyway.

If it does not have the faint subsidiary cross that identifies a Pozi

so I would first try a Phillips for fit.

When you have the absolutely correct tip in a screw, it "feels" correct with no slop. Do not use any turning force until you have the right one, or you will damage it.

If you have a set of tips (these are very cheap from Aldi and Lidl) you can hold them in your fingers to try, and you will know when you have the right one.

For what it is worth. I often find that JIS (Japanese Industrial Standard) fittings work better than PH or PZ when dealing with fittings from the "far east". The (Japanese) Vessel screwdriver fittings are the best I have come across. Not cheap though.

Thanks very much for your reply. Yeah it wasn’t until I actually posted the pic that I suddenly saw what appeared to be the Philips/Pozi cross shape.
