Hi all - we were fortunate enough to be given a bunk bed from friends made by "the Great little trading company" Unfortunately it is no longer made and we have no instructions - Nevertheless we have built if and am 80% complete though am missing some of the attached - can anyone please identify the name of this screw with the weird head and especially the retainer which goes behind it to restrict movement would be most appreciated - many thanks parkie [/img]

Can't help with the name except a suggestion of "curved plate washer" or something.

If you can get bolts the correct length (with a small head or a screwdriver slot head if necessary) you should be able to use any washer which will jam into place and hold it securely.

The curved washer / spreader looks remarkably like those found in worktop joining bolts......readily available!

Have you tried contacting the company?

They may be able to assist re spares or by telling you who made the bed.

Sorry if you've tried this already........

Hi parkie, they're called half moon furniture connectors, used in bed assembly often as memory suggests. The grub screw in the end of the threaded rod pans the end to hold the half moon slip on washers to hold together. Ones I used were similar but not the same as yours, so could be different...pinenot :)
