I'm thinking of adding a plinth heater to the kitchen I'm installing. My oven currently has a vent underneath it but I saw a picture of a plinth heater installed under an oven. Is this a wise idea with regards to necessary ventilation for the oven or am I better off positioning it somewhere else?

I would put it somewhere else if possible. Ovens often have thermal cutouts which operate if parts of the appliance that are not meant to get hot reach a certain temperature. Heat rising from your heater could be added to heat generated by the oven to bring it up to its cutout temperature.

Many years ago 'Tricity' used to sell a fan kit to be installed under a freestanding cooker. THey dont now.. I have seem plinth heaters though.
