Our regular plumber, owner of a really excellent firm, has just quoted us £1990 to replace our ageing boiler with a new condensing Baxi, including a new pump. (4 bed house, conventional system etc.)

This is at least 50% below what I expected him to quote. Are times getting that hard in the building and associated trades?

Sounds about right price
Baxi solo conv boiler about £650
Powerflush £400
Labour and pump and ancillary materials £950

i'll do it for what you were expecting to pay! i'll even buy you a beer when I'm done!

seriously that isn't too far out, especially if you are a regular customer and he knows your system. our straight swaps, as a general rule of thumb, are usually anywhere between 2-2.5k.
