plumbing a towel rad

hi guys

when you screw in the valves for a towel radiator...how far do you have to screw the tails in....i put up my towel radiator today in the bathroom...i screwd in the tails of the vlaves with ptfe tape about 2/3 of the way in ?.....will that be ok ?....or do they need to go all the way in so there is no thread exposed ?.....i havnt run the water to them yet...i need to plumb in another rad to a adjoining room....my concern is will the towel rad leak ?...cheers
