i need to change my 3 port mid position valve on my system it has a potterton valve on at the moment but are these valves universal and can i put a different make on ie honeywell

might be an idea to make sure the whole thing is wired up properly following y-plan connection, with all the wires colour coded properly and conected in the right place to avoid confusion in a couple of years time about what was what when the next fault occurs
