Hello anyone

about to do a bit of plumbing with chrome pipe to a radiator any tips or do,s or donts when plumbing compression fittings or cutting when handling chrome pipe ? or just treat it the same ??

It can be bent but dulls the surface it can be soldered using correct method and chrome fittings and looks ok .
You can get chrome compression fittings

Dont use push fit on it as it can slip off.

Another idea is to use standard copper and fittings and use a chrome spray paint afterwards seen it done several times and the finish is good

If it were not for the small bit of work the OP is doing hopefully using chromed compression fittings.

The professional way (at least with the company I worked for!) for more complex work where a straight pipe and chrome compression fittings will not do , was to fabricate it all in ordinary copper and then remove what would usually be a bent arrangement of pipe and send it off to be chromed. Refit when it comes back nice and shiny!

As said, can be soldered, but obviously would look a mess on visible areas of pipework. Fine for under boards, etc.

Use a file to take the plating off of the end of pipe that's being soldered.

Because the heat can blue the plating.

Also, as this is aimed at a DIYer, the soldering would need to be very neat, if going to the trouble and expense of chrome pipe and fittings. Solder ring may be neater than end feed for someone without much experience.
