Plywood layer for tiling: cannot open the door

I am thinking of tiling over the floorboards in my bathroom.
To do this, I will put down a 1/2 inch WBP plywood layer over the existing floorboards.
Doing this will present a couple of problems:

* The door will need to be trimmed.
* The existing basin and WC plumbing connections will not reach when I raise the floor.

I welcome your advice on tackling these two problems.

One solution would be to rip out the floorboards and replace. But I have already installed a new bath in one corner of the bathroom and would like to leave it as is.

Thanks
Mike

Just replace the floorboards up to the bath?

Unfortunately the floorboards run the wrong way for this to be done easily.

Is trimming a door a difficult task? I am a little scared of taking too much off.
I expect it can be done with a saw, plane and sandpaper .

It can be done though by adding extra noggins

A circular saw to approx 2mm then finish off with a plane, score it with a stanley knife preventing wood split

Thanks for that. How do you measure how much you need to take off the bottom of the door? Surely you need to fit the door in place first -- a catch 22 situation.

You stand the door on a piece of cardboard (for clearance) on the newly laid floor and see where the hinges finish up against the fixing holes in the door case. You measure the difference and take that difference off the bottom of the door.

Doh!
That sounds easy enough.

Thanks
