I understand that it is OK to tile on floorboards, if you put down a plywood base first.

Some questions:
* Is this OK for a bathroom?
* How thick must the plywood be? 12mm/half-inch WBP?
* My bathroom currently has floorboard + laminate flooring. Can I skip the plywood and just tile onto the laminate floor layer?

Thanks in advance for your replies. I am particularily interested in hearing from people who have tiled over floorboards -- how does it cope with daily use after a couple of years, say?
