Hi all,

I am going to tile a bathroom floor and will be using Plywood as the base for the tiles.
Will plywood on its own (no floor board just straight onto the joists) be ok. The ply I am using is 22 mm thick?

Any help appreciated

Yes it will. Don't forget to stagger the joints and fit noggins to support the edges of the panels.
Read the sticky for basic tiling details.

Thanks for the advice gcol.

Have had an offer of 18mm ply (not marine or water proof) for free. Enough to cover the area I am tiling. Would it be ok to use this and then put 6mm marine ply on top? I would stagger the joints again with the 6mm ply. Or would I be better off just buying 22m marine ply and be done with it?

Thanks again. I will use the 18mm free bee for something else and price
up some 25mm marine ply. :D
