Hi Guys,
New to the forum so take it easy on me
Coming towards end of some major work in the house and was hoping to get some advice on a particular piece of work.
I have stripped away the plaster to expose the orginal brickwork which I play to leave. The house is an Edwardian 1905-1910. Anyhows the concrete between the bricks is extremely brittle due to age I guess. I am planning on re-pointing.
I am concerned the mortar won't take to the brittle concrete? I was wondering any suggestions on how I can handle this. I was considering just applying PVA to get it into a solid state and then apply mortor?
Advice greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Damien.
