I have just repointed a small section of a wall and the colour is greyer than expected!

I used a 6:1:1 mix of building sand lime and cement as I found lots of sites advising this. I did small test bit earlier in the week and the colour when cured is a pale yellow what I want. The latest section I did used exactly the same mix but is grey. It has been 3 days and is a bit lighter that the first day but no where near the other colour I have. Should I expect it to get lighter as it has been a bit damp recently? If not what could have caused this?

I was very sure to measure accurately the mix and if I hadn't mixed it properly then I would expect uneven colour but the area is all the same.

Any help advice greatly appreciated.

Thanks

was the test panel a different depth to the main bit? was it put in wetter? did it dry very quickly? there are a lot of factors that can change a colour.
