Hi
I have a small leak from where my pop up waste enters the bath, the water seems to be leaking by the foam seal, it generally begins to happen when the bath is half full.

I have replaced the rubber o ring on the plug but the leak is still there.

My next route was going to be to silicon the rim of the plughole but
I am unable to get to the overflow to undo it due to a vanity unit being in the way, is there anyother way that I can disconnect the cable in order to remove the unit to enable me to silicon it?

No, disconnecting the cable won't release the waste...
Short of removing it all, all you can do is try to introduce silicone round the outside of the ring from the top.
If you use descaler, and dry it off completely, and clean with meths. you stand a chance.
Something paint-consistency might be better but I can't think of anything - waterproof pva maybe?

thanks for the help chrisR, looks like thats my only option other than removing the vanity unit which would be a real pain.

is there anyway to raise the waste ring so i can add the sealent without removing/unscrewing the pop up waste which i am unable to do?
