Hi Folks,
Have recently moved into our first house 6 months ago
We keep the system running at 16 degrees all day as the house is very hard to reheat once cold and it seems to be saving us a bit of money in doing so??
about a month ago the boiler started to 'pop' when it sparks up to heat the water (sounds like fireworks going off from a distance)
It's fine during the day but a night because we sleep above the pipes running from the kitchen the noise is enough to drive you insane.
I was worried it was going to mean a new boiler but a few google searches have given a few possibilities. one being build up/ soot on the cast iron boiler 'bit' and others saying build up in the pipes and another air in the system???????
Im going to call an engineer out but want to know if one of these solutions sound correct to yourselves!!!
Really hope you can shed some light on this problem as i cant afford for an engineer to change everything except the fault itself!!
yours hopefully
