Hi, creating a porch and i am coming on to the floor which needs doing. I have deciding against insulating the floow as i dont see value in this? agreed?

i am planning to tile the floor is there any need to screed the floor? In addition how thick will tiles & grout be from floor level

Depends how flat you inside on. In the old days we had stone flag floors that we're all over e place. Nowadays people whinge about a 20m room being 3 mm out

Your tile adhesive bed will be 5 to 6 mM, your tiles will be bought beforehand and measured. If you're after a level threshold into the house it's thus a bit of maths.. Concrete can be floated level enough that you won't notice, but self levelling mixes exist if it ends up wonky.. If anything you want it a bit lower than your desired level, because it's easier to build up in self levelling than it is to grind it out

Pay attention to drying times before tiling, unless you figure it's a small area and not the end of the world if moisture in the concrete blows the tiles off
