porch wall

hi guys.
can someone please tell me if a porch can have the two side walls as solid full hight walls under PD?. or are the rules the same as a conservatory, i.e 50% of wall has to be glazed etc?

i have found all other info via search apart from this.

No such rules for a porch as long as you follow the guidelines;

The porch may be exempt from Building Regulations subject to the conditions, that Richard C provided on the link.

one more question and i am being a bit dim here sorry .

when calculating 3 sq m floor area, do i measure 3m deep x 3m wide or is it 1m deep x 3m wide?
