Hello all

I just fitted a new bathroom and had to do some pipe work near the hot water tank. I must have moved the inlet pipe somehow and now water is very slightly seeping through the tank wall, not from a joint, but through the tank wall about an inch above the inlet.
Beside changing the tank (not enough money right now) as anyone got any suggestions for a repair?

Thanks in advance

no chance mate. the tank was likely corroded. Just count yourself lucky that the whole thing didn't rupture and flood the house ;)

No guarantee, but if you can dry it all out and then solder over the area - use type D to make it thick, you might stop it for a while.

If you've never used stick solder (type D) , read about it and practice first!
