I need a portable work table that has a larger top than the usual fold down workbench.

I've been looking at this Macallister one and this Keter one

Firstly does anyone have experience of these type of tables as regards stability and robustness?

And secondly, although the two look almost identical, the Keter claims to take a far greater weight loading.

Are they actually different, or is it just another 'branding' exercise?

Pair of home-made "site" trestles and an old flush door (or plywood, or chipboard, or OSB) will often do better. Use some 3 x 2 CLS under the door if more strength is required. Door (or other material) can be trimmed to size, as required

I have 4 of the folding keter tables, by far the best tables/benches I've used, will easily hold 2 big blokes, they're sturdy and don't rock about, easy to deploy and fold up and take up minimal room, the only gripe is the quality of the quick grip style vice, the idea is totally correct but the actual grips themselves could be better but it wouldn't stop me buying the table

That's what I use, an old, flat faced door, on a pair of cheap folding plastic work stands. Outside, I also have a self built, large, heavy picnic table, onto which I lay some repurposed cardboard from a bed base I disposed of, to create a flatter more resilient surface.

Thanks for the replies.

Ended up getting the MaCallister.

Used it last night, and it's a nice stable table for holding chop saw etc.

Agree that the clamps could be better, but they hold ok.
