Possible Frost stat problem? (Ed.)

I have an ideal logic max com.bi c running on a sealed system. Each time we go away summer or winter we come back and our gas bill shows the boiler has been running. Room stat turned down to single figures. Could this be a faulty frost stat. Boiler is one year old. This has now happened twice this week and we have been home it's not cold enough for the stat ti kick in. Any suggestions hull depot are not responding to my call back rewuests

Have you checked to see if the pre-heat function for the hot water is selected. If it's 'on' this feature keeps the heat exchanger heated so that hot water is available more quickly than it would be if the boiler were starting up from cold, and of course in doing so consumes gas.

By the way, for future reference, central heating questions are better posted in the Plumbing and Central Heating forum, which is where the guys in the know about these things tend to hang out.

Could this be a faulty frost stat.

Do you have a separate frost stat? Check to setting, maybe someone has set it up too high.

Hi no extra stat thanks anyway. Managed to get hold of ideal they will be here Monday cheers all.
