Frost stat question

There are no fixed rules about what is heated. It all depends upon your property and what the original installer deemed to be at risk of freezing, if the pipes and areas that are at risk of freezing are warmed by the current arrangement, then that's fine. Which looking at your photo may be only be the boiler and pipes that are in an unheated garage, in which case they probably would be warmed by the current arrangement.

This arrangement wouldn't protect the entire property though if you were to go away for an extended period of time without the heating being left on.

Thanks to everyone for their advice and support. I took a look and indeed it was wired incorrectly - have now changed it and it seems to be working as it should

Has the output from the wall stat been put into the C terminal on the pipe stat? This is a common mistake that is made.

That'll teach me to read all the post!!!
